In the Mix

It seems like my fellow bloggers have successfully exhausted Leipzigs supply of fine streetart! Could it be. Meanwhile, Marburg still has some to offer, even though the lack of color compared to Leipzig really begins to irk me. It's too political, that is my suspicion.

Oberstadt und Südviertel

It is a nice surprise that once you look for streetart, you find more than you thought you would. These examples can be found in the Südviertel (I guess) and in the Oberstadt. Actually, when I reflect on Marburg's size I am not sure if it makes sense to assign them to Stadtviertel. :) But the Oberstadt deservers a mentioning. Even the Brüder Grimm said it has more stairs on the streets than in the houses!

Captain Weebl

Captain Weebl

Something a little different here...this piece is carved from a polystyrene board and then painted...it really reminds me of Weebl of Weebl and Bob fame...

Marburg: Stencils in the Philfak

Hello. I am here today to introduce this blog and its readers to the wonderful city of Marburg. As you will see it is a politically very left city, and that shows in the street art. Leipzig seems to have more artsy artists in comparison. Let's start with some stencils. Trivia: most of the street art is actually not in the streets, but in the university's philfak.
